Mission

Our mission is simple: Dismantle the proprietary mining empire to make Bitcoin and freedom tech accessible to anyone.

We develop and advocate for solutions that lower the entry barriers to mining including free and open-source Bitcoin mining software, firmware, and hardware solutions. We provide educational resources, tools, and support to demystify Bitcoin and freedom tech, empowering individuals to engage with and benefit from this revolutionary system. Beyond Bitcoin mining, we strive to make all freedom-enhancing technologies accessible. This is why we also have a mechanism for supporters to sponsor Bitcoin Park memberships for developers and educators. We believe in free and open development and we pledge that every project from this foundation will always be made available through free and open-source contributions, specifically by these definitions as it relates to software or by these definitions as it relates to hardware and other special purpose applications.

This foundation was formed in February 2024 by @bitkite and @econoalchemist.

If you believe Bitcoin mining should be free and open then join us in our mission and become a Tier I, II, or III supporter today. Or use The 256 Foundation PayNym!

Supporters

Our stance on donations is simple: money from all, influence from none.

We think anyone should be able to make contributions to support our mission regardless of who they are or what their views are. All donations go to support the mission of dismantling the proprietary mining empire to liberate Bitcoin and freedom tech for all; guided by the developers and educators putting in the work and no one else.
